140 years later, Raspou Team reconstruct the “Paris Commune of 1871″ with revolutionary tools!
In 2011, it’s the 140th anniversary of the Paris Commune. That is why Raspou Team wanted to come back to this event in the history of the capital. “In 1871, for more than two months, the city gives itself a people’s government, army and civil democratic experiment of direct democracy. Many social reforms were undertaken.”
The project aims to give visibility to “The Paris Commune”. Each event is processed by the online diary, very well done, with a vertical reading of the information, it goes very easily into the subject. Every day is illustrated by action street art (collage, graph) produced in Paris like in a Banksy’ style. Each piece has a QR Code that reference to the article in the online journal.
“The events appear simultaneously in the newspaper and on the street, at the time they occurred, with 140 years apart.”
So we end up in a transmedia experience using the current media outlets. The website and mobile services are connected through the innovative QR Code. The site uses a classic among the CMS, WordPress, and for sure make a good usage of jQuery library, that brings most of the interactivity. An excellent choice according to 3WDOC.
So, mixing technologies and good ideas, can create remarkable results. It can renew the reading of a historical event whose importance was even taken into account by Marx himself in its time.
